Jeremy brings more than 15 years of winemaking experience to New Zealand Wine Society and we’re thrilled to have him on the team. Born and raised in Canterbury, Jeremy began his winemaking career with Wairau River Wines before moving to Rapaura Vintners as a cellarhand. He’s completed a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Microbiology as well as postgraduate diplomas in Forensic Science (Auckland University) and Viticulture and Oenology (Lincoln University). After study, he travelled to work vintages in France and Australia before settling in Marlborough. He’s been a winemaker for Allan Scott Wines in Marlborough and Mount Michael Wines in Central Otago, and since 2008, he’s had the role of Senior Marlborough Winemaker with Villa Maria Estate, overseeing all processes from vineyard to bottle. His Sauvignon Blancs, Pinot Noirs and Chardonnay have won many trophies and awards and his skill is a real asset to both our wines and Tasting Panel.
