The Riversdale Crater Chardonnay is a super-premium wine from a much feted boutique producer. The Riversdale Chardonnay is one of the most consistently awarded Chardonnays in Tasmania, and this new release is every bit as good as its predecessors. It is bursting with white peach and citrus flavours, and boasts a tight acid line on the lingering finish.

Background

Riversdale Estate is located in the Coal River Valley and lies in the shadow of the famous Utas radio telescope. The nearby museum was named in honour of the founder of radio astronomy, Grote Reber, so it's not surprising that Riversdale Estate turned to the cosmos for inspiration when naming their range of ultra premium, cool climate wines. CRATER:(latin:'cup'-pronounced 'cray-ter'). A small constellation, best seen between March and June, said to represent the goblet of Apollo.
