SOUTH AUSTRALIA-BAROSSA VALLEY
All types of red meat dishes, casseroles or tomato and mozzarella pizza.
12 months French and American oak hogsheads.
Deep red with crimson hues.
Cherry, spice and blackberry fruits enhanced by coconutty American oak. The ripeness of the fruit is reflected in the intensity of the aromas in the bouquet.
A lovely dry red wine with charry toasted oak characters adding depth and interest to the full flavoured fruit characters. This has a long and lingering palate that makes a great partner to rich, flavoursome red meat dishes or a platter of hard-rind, mature cheeses.
The Rohrlach family have been grape growers in the Barossa Valley for over 50 years. They have concentrated on traditional Barossa Valley varieties, and like to pick their grapes at optimum ripeness to ensure depth and intensity of flavour. Full flavoured Barossa reds like this are in big demand for their dense ripe flavour and tremendous longevity. The cherry, spice and blackberry fruit characters in this wine have been enhanced by maturation in new American oak, producing a wine that has plenty of well integrated oak character. It is showing a lot of flavour and potential now but it will be drinking well for many years to come.
