Bright deep ruby purple.
Rich and complex with dark blackberry fruit and wild plum and chocolate aromas; sweet cedary oak and black pepper spice produce a beautifully balanced and complex bouquet.
The soft, supple palate has generous plum, chocolate, dark berry and cherry flavours. This is a medium to full bodied wine with a fine, supple texture, finely layered structure and subtle sweet oak flavours that fill out the finish.
Coonawarra holds the pre-eminent position as one of Australia's greatest red wine regions, boasting the most celebrated vineyard soil in Australia, known as terra rossa, a distinctive, albeit thin, band of vivid red soil overlying a bed of soft limestone. Though its Cabernet is more well-known, connoisseurs regularly seek out its stunning Shiraz as well.
