- Rich, smooth and spicy Shiraz
- A great example of Adelaide Hills finesse
- Ripe cherry and blueberry fruit
Moore Farm Adelaide Hills Shiraz 2015 x12
Barbecued quail, roast duck, soft ripe cheeses.
Medium red with purple hues.
This is packed with enticing aromas of dark cherry and plum aromas, Chinese five spice scents and hints of star anise and vanilla. There's extra complexity from inkyoyster shell and beef stock aromas, which give a good indication of the depth of flavour in this wine.
There's great balance on the palate, WITH intensely SPICY, ripe cherry and blueberry BERRY FRUIT flavours balanced by Integrated vanillin OAK and a supportive, fine tannin structure. This is a benchmark Adelaide Hills Shiraz, with incredible structure, length and complexity.
These wines pays tribute to Abraham Hopkins Davis, one of the forgotten pioneers of the South Australian wine industry. In 1838 he acquired vine cuttings from the James Busby collection in Sydney's Botanic Gardens and planted them in Adelaide's Botanic Gardens; these vines became a living resource for contemporary and future vignerons. A year later, Davis settled at Moore Farm and planted five acres of it to vines. We have named these fine wines after his beloved home, in recognition of the important contribution Davis made to the Australian wine industry.
