Mclean's Farm Reserve Barossa Shiraz 2016 x12
SOUTH AUSTRALIA-BAROSSA VALLEY
Char-grilled Rump with a Red currant Jus or Steak and Kidney Pie.
16 months in French and American oak.
Deep red with crimson tints.
Ripe aromas of dark berry fruit and spice aromas.
A medium bodied, full flavoured Shiraz with deep and rich blackberry and plum fruit flavours. This wine has finely balanced tannins with a soft and smooth finish.
Bob McLean was a firm believer in the compatibility of Shiraz and the Barossa Valley, also in its ability to produce a variety of styles. He personally could not understand why it was not a focus of more major producers! Shiraz is the most successful grape variety for this leading region, with this being the birthplace of the famous Penfolds Grange. The style is full blooded - dark in colour, rich in dark red fruits with a touch of chocolate and a hint of raisin character. The structure is round and velvety, and the wines are invariably long lived.
