SOUTH AUSTRALIA-BAROSSA VALLEY
Enjoy with eye fillet steak and baked potatoes.
American and French oak.
Lifted aromas of spice, dark berry and plum notes with harmonious layers of oak that complement rather than overpower the fruit characters.
The flavours are all dark berry fruits with a burst of chocolate and liquorice, moving evenly from entry through the mid to late palate. The tannins remain fruit-filled throughout, resulting in a soft and rewarding end palate leaving a lingering generous mouthfeel.
In the Barossa, the personalities can be as big as the wines they produce. They didin't come much bigger than Bob McLean who for many years was the face of St Haslett. Bob had his own winery, McLean's Farm, which gained legendary status in his lifetime. With access to some of the best fruit in the Barossa, Bob's wines are truly superb (Bob would settle for nothing less!). Reflecting this commitment to quality, the winery has been given an impressive four and half star rating in James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion 2011.
