Background

The fruit is grown on the Belsham Awatere Estate. Densely planted, the vine yields are minimised and the fruit is meticulously hand tended. A warm vintage b y cool climate standards, the fruit was hand-picked and naturally fermented by indigenous yeast in small open-topped oak and stainless vessels. The resulting wine was then aged in small French oak barrels for 1 0 months. The final barrel selection was blended, and bottled in March 2011 . There was no fining of the wine .
