Amazing colour, dark, almost black core with bright crimson rim.
Hung and beautifully ripe - blackberry, blue berry and stewed plums with lead and graphite and violet florals with spiced orange peel. Cigar box oak. Beautifully perfumed.
Bold, rich, fleshy entry with dark fruit flavours, big tannins and layers of complexity and structure. A serious wine, full-bodied and concentrated with powerful tannins that sit well within the framework of the wine delivering a lush, sensuous wine that finishes beautifully.
A single vineyard wine from the special Central Otago sub region of Bendigo where the rabbits are as plentiful as the tannins. Made from 4 x different picks from the one vineyard site each pick was a different clone and each fermented, pressed and matured separately. The parcels each contribute a special character to the wine showing how beautifully the Central Otago climate can ripen Pinot Noir and the generosity and concentration of fruit that result. An element of whole-bunch was included. It will age well.
