The vast, high and dry plains of Castilla la Mancha account for more than half of Spain's vineyards. The ancient soils and high altitude result in richly flavoured fruit and this ripe, mouthfilling Tempranillo is no exception. With ripe berry flavours, varietal cherry cola and smoked spice with supple tannins, it's an excellent example of this much loved Spanish style.

Nose

The nose is lifted and expressive, unveilling an array of dark berry aromas, ground spice, earth and a whiff of spicy oak.

Whilst offering excellent drinking now, it will most certainly age gracefully for over five years.

Background

The vast, high and dry plains of Castilla la Mancha comprise over 50% of Spain's vineyards. The ancient soils and high altitude ensures the richly flavoured fruit maintains structure and tannin. Vineyards planted on the slopes of mountain ranges in the north and north east add a degree of elegance to the wines.
