Dark red with violet hues.
Dark red berry, blackberry and notes of lifted briary bush with subtle hints of spicy oak.
A medium bodied wine that shows the delightful balance of skillful oak usage and bright blackberry and red berry fruit flavours. Firm yet gentle grainy tannins add structure to the lingering finish.
Dorrien Estate was originally established in the 1950's as the winery for Woodley Queen Adelaide - one of Australia's most successful wine brands. It is situated on the corner of Siegersdorf Road and Barossa Valley Way, halfway between Nuriootpa and Tanunda in the heart of the Barossa Valley. Today it is a large, state of the art winery with modern crushing, fermentation and oak maturation facilities, producing a wide variety of wines but only a small, premium quality range under the 'Dorrien Estate' brand. This is a no-nonsense Cabernet that is big on flavour and body.
