Lil Rippa Hawkes Bay Merlot 2016
Very good structure and line. Bright fruit entry showing ripe red berry fruits and nice structural support from oak and ripe tannin. Good drinkability.
Willowbrook Coonawarra Merlot 2015
This is a wine with tremendous cellaring potential. The palate is young right now - tightly structured with potential to open up into an outstanding aged wine. Rich varietal fruit characters of ripe blackcurrant, cherry and some plums. Well integrated oak provides depth and complexity, offering tightly grained tannins and cedar wood nuances. The flavour is long and lingering with a delightful fruit and oak tannin backbone.
Neil Mcguigan Series Merlot 2016
There's not much internationally renowned winemaker Neil McGuigan hasn't achieved. His stubborn pursuit to create the best wines around has led him to craft his Series range - a label which brings together fruit from a mix of hot and cool wine regions creating a seamless harmony of the two. This soft, smooth easy drinking Merlot certainly achieves this. It's full of ripe, juicy blackberry and raspberry fruit, complexed by dusty oak and fine grainy tannins.
Woolshed Limestone Coast Merlot 2015
This wine is named in honour of the historic woolshed in South Australia where John Riddoch (Coonawarra pioneer) first made wine. From South Australia's cool climate Limestone Coast, this is soft, smooth, and lusciously silky.
Caudo Olympiad Merlot 2015
This lovely Merlot comes from Joe and Christine Caudo's property, which is situated on a beautiful stretch of the Murray River, in South Australia. The property was originally a rose farm, and all the wines are named after roses. The Olympiad rose is a deep, luscious red - just like the Merlot! It's smooth, soft, sumptuous and silky ... a real beauty.
