Hawkesbridge Reserve Marlborough Pinot Gris 2017
This wowed the Tasting Panel as soon as the bottle was opened and quickly made the Wine of the Year Finalist list. It has classic super-ripe pear and baked apple aromas are backed by an intriguing suggestion of spicy shortbread. It has been made just off-dry, but there is an impressive amount of fruit concentration on the palate along with the variety's typically complex, oily texture. It's destined for greatness.
Babich Black Label Hawke's Bay Chardonnay 2016
The Black Label Chardonnay has been developed to complement food. Babich has blended a wine from estate-owned vineyards which, while displaying the pungent and crisp characteristics that set Hawke's Bay sourced fruit apart, shows greater depth and complexity on the palate.
Ata Mara Central Otago Gruner Veltliner 2015
This Austrian grape variety is loving the Central Otago climate. The small vines on Ata Mara's Pisa vineyard produced enormous bunches of grapes that have been turned into a wine that's complex and weighty. It features white flowers, white pepper, wet stone, guava, nectarine, and honey. It's a dry style that all white drinkers should try.
