“To make wines that are true to the vineyard site from where the grapes grew.”
- Nick Badrice
Following study at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, Nick Badrice's winemaking career began as a cellar hand at Leo Buring. A year later he joined Dorrien Estate in the Barossa Valley and in 2001 stepped in to his current position as winemaker. During this time he also gained experience working three vintages in Spain on three different winemaking projects.
Nick’s favourite wine moment
Tasting my first ever Garnacha at an outside bar in Priorat while working a vintage in Spain. It was great, it made sense, and whenever I taste a good Grenache now it always reminds me of that time.
Nick's winemaking philosophy
- Respect (for all the stages, from grape to bottle).
- Attention to detail.
