Our whites are Cuisine’s best

Just announced and exclusive to us

The latest issue of Cuisine is out with their annual Pinot Gris and Riesling tasting - and it was a real coup for us!

Our exclusive Gibbston Highgate Estate, Turnstone and Lobster Reef black label Pinot Gris were placed number one, two and five in the Top 5 of the tasting, and our Crosse Riesling was their number five.

That’s cause for celebration - to have one wine named in the Top 5 is brilliant; to have four is unheard of.

The star is the Gibbston Highgate Estate Central Otago Pinot Gris. Not only was it awarded 5 stars and the number one spot from 122 entries, but it is also the judges’ Best Buy.

Here's what the judges had to say...

1 / Gibbston Highgate Estate Dreammaker Central Otago Pinot Gris 2018
★★★★★
5 stars

"This wonderfully ripe expression of pinot gris has spice, freshness energy and depth. The appealing lively aromas open out to a creamy palate reminiscent of vanilla custard yet still holding a tight form. The balance is off dry and the finish of the wine is perfectly shaped with just enough acidity to offset the generosity of texture."

2 / Turnstone Marlborough Pinot Gris 2018
★★★★★
5 stars

"The delightfully spicy aromas of ripe pear and candied ginger draw you in to a generous palate that has a very impressive depth and flavour. The red apple profile is expertly managed to be generous yet not overweight and it is all finished with a lovely dry touch."

5 / Lobster Reef Marlborough Pinot Gris 2018
★★★★½
4.5 stars

"This wine is like smelling a basket of tree-ripened pip fruits. The aroma delivers all of that promise as the mouthfeel is as soft and juicy as if you had bitten into the ripest apple in the basket. A delight from start to finish."

5 / Crosse Vineyard Marlborough Riesling 2018
★★★★½
4.5 stars

"Fresh, ripe lemon zest and orange-blossom aromas herald this delicious wine. Such aromas suggest sweetness, yet the palate seamlessly delivers both presence and tension with a dry finish. It is like having an unsweetened tarte Tatin in a glass."
