These characters carry through onto the palate which has a lovely mouthfeel, clean fresh acids in the citrus mould and loads of potential for bottle ageing.
Background:
The Tolley family established their first vineyards in South Australia in 1892. As success followed success the Tolley vineyard holdings increased and their origins in Hope Valley were soon forgotten. These modern premium wines are a tribute to the early days, pioneered in the Hope Valley Cellars. The old Tolley winery has been transformed into a $3 million, 1100sq m, five-bedroom dream home with a giant party room in the old grape crushing house. Riesling is a variety that can grow almost anywhere, making tight austere styles in cooler climates and zesty, fruit driven styles in the warmer climes. This 2009 release is made using fruit grown on select sites throughout south eastern Australia.
