Background:
Moscato is traditionally a very light wine. This one is low in alcohol (most table whites range between 12% and 13%) and it's perfect either as an aperitif before a meal, or else as an accompaniment to fruity desserts and cakes. Stefano de Pieri was born in Treviso, near Venice, and came to Australia in 1974 at the age of nineteen. After being actively involved in politics, he chose to pursue his passion for cooking fulfilling a long-held dream by opening his own restaurant in the Grand Hotel, Mildura, now widely acclaimed as one of the finest restaurants in Australia. Now a celebrated chef, author, raconteur and TV presenter, Stefano remains unwaveringly passionate about the joys of simple, fresh food. He espouses the benefits of using only the finest, fresh, locally grown produce. He's also deeply interested in the social, cultural and environmental factors that shape communities. It was these interests that saw Stefano become a Murray River Tourism ambassador and a member of the Slow Food Movement, an international association that promotes wine and food culture.
