Background:
These wines pays tribute to Abraham Hopkins Davis, one of the forgotten pioneers of the South Australian wine industry. In 1838 he acquired vine cuttings from the James Busby collection in Sydney's Botanic Gardens and planted them in Adelaide's Botanic Gardens; these vines became a living resource for contemporary and future vignerons. A year later, Davis settled at Moore Farm and planted five acres of it to vines. We have named these fine wines after his beloved home, in recognition of the important contribution Davis made to the Australian wine industry.
