Nose:
Rich ripe berry fruit aromas complexed by earthy and bronw spice hints intermingling with the vanillin oak. Also shows a subtle combination of spicy pepper and tar like characters which are typical of Hunter Shiraz.
Palate:
In typical Hunter style this is elegant and stylish with a long savoury finish balanced by firm yet fine-grained tannins. It is well structured and shows great palate length. At just 12.5% alcohol, it's a savoury, refined style which will integrate and develop well with careful cellaring.

The Margan Family are certainly making a name for themselves for producing excellent award-winning wines. Andrew Margan has won many gold medals and trophies since he started his boutique Hunter Valley winery, including collecting the prestigious Leo Buring Perpetual Trophy at the Sydney Royal Wine Show - not once, but twice! The Hunter Valley is renowned for its idiosyncratic style of Shiraz. Unlike most Australian examples, Hunter Valley Shiraz can be defined by its elegance and softness. This one shows delicious sweet berry aromas and flavours backed by earthy hints and sweet vanillin oak characters. The palate is finely structured with smooth, fine-grained tannins.
