Background:

Located around 80km south of Adelaide, the Currency Creek region boasts ancient coastal soils, with a maritime climate and long, dry summers the perfect environment for growing premium quality grapes. In 2008, severe heat early in the Currency Creek vintage resulted in heavy losses of fruit. However, this act of self-attrition meant the vines could put all their nutrients and energy into the remaining bunches, which ripened beautifully with excellent varietal characteristics a real achievement in what could have been seen as a tough vintage.
