Tasting Notes

Region: South Eastern Australia
Drink Until: 31122012
Varieties: Verdelho
Alcohol: 13.0%
Foods: Roasted pumpkin and goat's cheese salad.
Oak: Unoaked.
Colour: Pale yellow with green hues.
Nose: Lifted fresh tropical fruit guava and pineapple with grassy characters and quince notes in the background.
Palate: This has a wonderful balance of a medium-bodied, flavoursome palate tempered by fresh, crisp acidity. The lifted, ripe guava, pineapple and passionfruit flavours are kept in check by fresh acids which add a zesty, mouthwatering character to the wine.

Background:

The Drayton family first established vineyards in Pokolbin in the late 1850s and are one of the few surviving family owned operations left in the Hunter Valley, and indeed in Australia. The company has some of the oldest vines in the Valley and continues to expand its vineyard base. Download as PDF
