Tasting Notes

Awards: 1 Bronze
Region: Brancott Valley, Marlborough
Drink Until: 31122012
Varieties: Sauvignon Blanc
Alcohol: 13.5%
Foods: Fresh seafood sushi with pickled ginger.
Oak: Nil.
Colour: Marlborough Sauvignon is always very pale when it is young. As this wine ages it will develop straw and light gold tints.
Nose: Dillons Point Sauvignon Blanc at its vibrant best: lifted, nectarine aromas backed with gooseberry, passionfruit, nettle and a touch of sweat.
Palate: This wine has an acid structure that gives it great linearity and focus, yet it also has masses of weight and fruit character that gives the palate some real richness and flesh.

Background:

Our 2010 Riparian Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is based on a single vineyard in the Brancott Valley. This vineyard has proved to be a very consistent performer and in 2010 the fruit was harvested in great condition. This wine is a real style statement and shows just how interesting single terroir wines are from Marlborough. The wine was bottled young to capture all of its richness and intensity. Download as PDF
