Oak: About 10% saw aging in old oak
Colour: Pale golden straw.
Nose: Aromas reminiscent of ripe pears and freshly sliced Golden Queen peaches are backed by a savoury, biscuit-like note.
Palate: The variety's classic oily texture gives it instant approachability on the palate, where the flavours repeat the pear impression but are joined by a touch of spice. The finish is well-balanced thanks to the smartly integrated acids, and offers good length.

Background:

A blend of two parcels of Gris, all free run juice, and all from the one vineyard in Blind River. It's a great site and has several blocks of Pinot Gris within the vineyard with varying vine age. This gives a range of fruit flavour profiles, picking dates and plenty of scope in the winery to influence the final blending options.The wine has lovely purity of fruit and balance and delivers solid varietal character with complexity and drive.
