Background:

Augustine Vineyards were established in 1917 by Dr Thomas Fiaschi, the Australian Surgeon General in World War 1 a man whose exploits in the Boer War were documented by Banjo Patterson. He was a great advocate in the moderate consumption of wine for medicinal purposes and was considered by many to be one of the forefathers of Australia's modern wine industry. He was the president of The Wine Merchants Association in NSW and held conferences on viticulture and wine production. Today, the Augustine label lives on to honour Fiaschi's memory, with a range of wines created with fruit from vineyards across south eastern Australia. Download as PDF

...thank you for the outstanding Fine Aged Reds 2011 selection of which I have so far tasted three. All are stunning in their own right and streets ahead of any other $22-$24 wines I have tried recently
