Background:

Sourced from two vineyard sites one in Tarras and the other from Pisa. The Tarras parcel was very low yielding (1 bunch per cane) and on the light stony soils produced very flavoursome, very ripe fruitThe Pisa site on river terrace is young vines and select picking obtained fruit at optimum ripeness and with excellent acid structure. Gentle pressing minimised any phenolic extraction and the resulting wine is ripe and lush yet well balanced with that lovely acid structure holding the wine together well. The harsh climate, low fertility soils and careful viticulture has enabled production of a wine with finesse and structure. The wine shows excellent varietal character and structure. Download as PDF

...thank you for the outstanding Fine Aged Reds 2011 selection of which I have so far tasted three. All are stunning in their own right and streets ahead of any other $22-$24 wines I have tried recently
