Marlborough Wines

Although Marlborough, New Zealand’s premium winemaking region can attribute its initial success to Sauvignon Blanc, it produces tremendous Riesling, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris as well. Even Marlborough Pinot Noir often rates higher than the better known Wairarapa and Central Otago versions. It’s also the nation’s sparkling wine capital. Even though it’s an exclusive region it’s encouraging that a drinker can get a favourite variety at a price that will suit his or her pocket.
