Central Otago Wines

Central Otago is the world’s most southernmost wine grape growing region. It’s made up of Gibbston, Wanaka, Bannockburn, Cromwell, Alexandra and Bendigo. Pinot Noir is their leading variety but they also turn out exceptional Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer, as well as excellent Chardonnay and very fine Sauvignon Blanc. You can generally expect to pay a premium for Central Otago wine, but there are bargains to be found.
