Riesling

Riesling is a popular and versatile variety; sweeter and fruitier styles make great aperitifs and the drier versions are lovely with food. Cool-climate examples (from Marlborough and Australia’s Clare and Eden Valleys) have vibrant floral and citrus characters with zesty acidity.
Warmer-climate wines usually emphasise fruit flavours. Aged Riesling becomes softer with more complex toasty characters. It also ranks amongst the world’s great dessert wines.
