Penfolds Wines
Penfolds, the most famous Australian wine label around, was started in the 1800s by Dr Christopher Penfold who brought vine cuttings from the France with him when he emigrated from the UK to Australia.
While Penfolds quickly became the biggest wine name in Australia, it wasn’t until 1951 that Max Schubert (originally the company’s messenger boy) created the first Grange.
And the rest is history.
