What information do we collect? How do we use it?
When you order, we need to know your name, delivery address, credit card number and expiration date to allow us to process and fulfil your orders. By providing us with your email address we will also be able to notify you of your order status (by doing so you will also receive fantastic wines offer by email).
The information you volunteer regarding a gift recipient is used solely to fulfil gifts you choose to send to that person. When you enter a contest or other promotional feature, we may ask for your name, address and e-mail address so we can administer the contest and notify winners.
We collect aggregate information on customer traffic patterns and site usage to help us develop the design and layout of the store. We may also use the information we collect to occasionally notify you about changes to the web site, new services and special offers we think you'll find valuable. If you would rather not receive this information, please let us know by sending an email to enquiries@nzwinesociety.co.nz or calling us on 0800 80 9463.
Any of your details that we hold are available for your personal inspection by contacting us on our free call number and verifying your identity. The New Zealand Wine Society welcomes your questions and comments on our privacy policy.

How does The New Zealand Wine Society protect my information?
When you place orders or access your account information on the web site, we offer the use of a secure server. The secure server software (SSL) encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. Confidential information, such as your address, credit card details and order history, is not stored on the web server but on The New Zealand Wine Society database, which is protected against unauthorised access.
What about cookies?
"Cookies" are small pieces of information sent by a web server and stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive so it can later be read back from that browser. This allows your browser to remember some specific information. Our cookies enable us to store items in your shopping cart and to identify you on return visits. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually change your browser to prevent that. However, while most of the content of our web site can be viewed without accepting cookies, the shopping facility feature of the site will not function properly when cookies are disabled.
Will The New Zealand Wine Society disclose the information it collects to outside parties?
The New Zealand Wine Society does not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others. We do use contractors to prepare and lodge with NZ Post our conventional mail. A Confidentiality Agreement binds these contractors.
