About Us
In the beginning…
Way back in 1990 the New Zealand Wine Society was launched to keep wine-loving Kiwis’ wine racks and glasses filled with delicious, great-value, home-delivered wine. Today we’re still going strong.
Twenty years! That’s quite a milestone. Of course we couldn’t have got there without loyal customers, and to say thanks we’ll strive to provide you with the best wine deals and service possible.
Our people
They’re a great bunch. And like you, they’re passionate about wine. Every one of our team goes through extensive wine training covering everything from wine history, wine-making, varieties, regions and more.They also have regular tastings of new wines so they stay up to date (yes, they have to spit it out, but occasionally we let them take some home).
When you call and talk to a New Zealand Wine Society Wine Advisor, they’ll have the answers to your question, and if they don’t know, they’ll find out. That’s why they’re award winners!

Wander through our website and you’ll see we have lots of wine. Some you’ll know – like Villa Maria and Coopers Creek. Others will be new to you. These are exclusive to us, and are small parcels of boutique wines sourced directly from individual wineries and independent growers. That means you’ll discover great wines you wouldn’t ordinarily come across.More great reasons to buy from us
- Our Guarantee
Every wine we offer has received a medal-winning equivalent score from one of our expert tasting Panel members using New Zealand Wine Show judging criteria. Quite simply, if they don’t judge it to be at least Bronze-medal standard, we don’t stock it.
But in the end, you’re the only judge that counts. If you don’t like a wine – for any reason whatsoever – we’ll credit your account.

You order, we deliver. It’s that simple.
But if you’d like a case to arrive when you need it, without the hassle of remembering to order, we’ll match you with a regular-delivery plan so the Tasting Panel picks wines for you, and they’ll arrive like clockwork until you say when.
